Sekisui proposed development is finished

Sekisui site 28.5HA has been sold to the Dennis Family development group for $110 million.
Subject to council approval, around 291 dwellings could be built on the beachfront site, including 112 detached dwellings, 41 terrace homes, 138 apartments and 500sq m of retail.

Kelly Slater Wave Pool

Brisbane-based Consolidated Properties Group announced it had sold its significant 120ha landholding at Coolum on the Sunshine Coast, where it had proposed a Kelly Slater surf park.
The Sunshine Coast Council has acquired the site for $6 million.
The land is slated to be amalgamated into the Blue Heart Sunshine Coast parcel of land and restored to wetlands, which would be used as flood storage.

Barnes Lane

The 6.8HA site which was recently sold by Bunnings after their development application was refused has a planned agr tourism venture planned
Barns Lane Farm key features:

  • Site size: 6.8 hectares
  • Restaurants and cafes offering paddock-to-plate experience
  • More than three hectares of productive garden beds and orchards

Coolum Horizons Estate, 85 Yungar Street Coolum Beach

For many of us this heavily treed site on the western slope of Grandview hill has been a landark and home to s number of kangaroos often seen hopping along the nearby streets. Sadly, much of the 9.8HA site was cleared in preparation for another 31 residential lots.
It is a challenging site with slope stability issues so many nearby residents will be monitoring progress very closely

Sunshine Coast Town Plan

The first draft of the new town plan is due out in 2024.
We are hopeful that no significant changes will affect our local area with much of the protected greenspace remaining and minimal opportunities for medium-density development.
